Exhibition Description:
Chen Tai-Yuan's fascination with two distinct art movements, Classicism and Fauvism. These two styles differ greatly from each other: one is characterized by its meticulous elegance and subtle refinement, while the other strives for grandeur and wild intensity. This exhibition challenges the artist to merge these divergent styles seamlessly. The Classicism approach revolves around a color palette dominated by coffee tones, employing brushwork that weaves layers of intricate details, resulting in a rich and varied composition. On the other hand, the Fauvism style focuses on the depiction of indigenous peoples as its central theme. Through techniques that extend and fragment the composition, it vividly conveys the frustration and resentment experienced by minority groups unable to communicate their thoughts to the outside world. The exhibition offers a thought-provoking experience that prompts contemplation while captivating the viewers.
