To introduce and promote the features of Yanshui Beehive Fireworks to society, the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Tainan City Government commissioned the Tainan Cultural Property Association to hold the “Yanshui Beehive Fireworks Assembling Camp and Old Street Culture Tour” at Yanshui Junior High School, Wumiao and Old Street during the Lantern Festival every year. The public can understand the cultural meaning of the Beehive Fireworks and the charming features of Yanshui by assembling and shooting off the Beehive Fireworks.

Before the integration of Tainan City and County, the holding of such activity with deep cultural meaning had already been started and it was the 18th consecutive year of this activity as of the Lantern Festival in 2020. This distinctive Beehive Fireworks experiencing activity in Taiwan is very popular and attracts people at home and abroad to participate in the activity each year. By experiencing this well-known folk activity during the Lantern Festival in Taiwan, people can taste the unique cultural features of Yanshui.

However, visitors can only attend this activity with smoke wafting everywhere because it is the annual work of Yanshui households to assemble the Beehive Fireworks tower on the Lantern Festival. Therefore, the Beehive Fireworks assembling camp held by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Tainan City Government is the only chance for visitors to assemble the Beehive Fireworks tower. To enable the domestic and foreign participants to have an in-depth understanding of the Beehive Fireworks rite and culture, the participants of the camp will be guided to visit Yanshui Old Street first and taste the snacks of Yanshui in the morning, and then proceed on the experience course to the Beehive Fireworks assembling in the afternoon. The course first introduces the production process and important rites of the Beehive Fireworks, followed by the tower assembling of the groups guided by the instructor. The shooting of the Fireworks tower is conducted at the playground of Yanshuei Junior High School at night so that the participants can enjoy a powerful and splendid Beehive Fireworks experience.
