There are 57 public/private museums and local cultural halls in Tainan City, with themes spanning diverse aspects such as natural science, humanities and history, literature and art, and craft industry. Based on the concept of marketing and resource sharing, and in conjunction with the International Museum Day on May 18, the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Tainan City Government has been holding the Tainan Museum Festival since 2017.

From May to June each year, adhering to the concept of “the whole city is a large museum,” the museums and local cultural halls organize multiple creative events throughout Tainan to create a city-wide festive atmosphere and attract people to participate, thus promoting the unique value and cultural significance of the museums.
