Tainan was the first city established in Taiwan. Besides being the true “home” of local writers, Tainan is considered a fertile land and source of nutrients for many literary people to commune with literature. To encourage writers and literary people to stay in Tainan for the purpose of creation, visiting and communication, the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Tainan City Government, has transformed the old public dormitory into the “Tainan Guesthouse for Writers” to provide a residence for literary people to live in Tainan while providing nutrients to Tainan.
