Koxinga Museum

The Koxinga Museum is a place in which the history of Tainan, historical buildings, the stories of the folk hero and many other precious collections are integrated. 

The section displays the historical development of Great Tainan in relation to the remains found in this places, as well as the objects and heritage relating to Koxinga and Tainan.

With all kinds of historical objects, the Koxinga Museum can be seen as a treasure house of history in Tainan City. The seven pieces in the museum collection- the Jade Tablet( Prince of Ningjing’s Jade Hu), Koxinga’s Cursive Calligraphy Scripts, The Portrait of Koxinga (Nasu Hokei Copy), and The Stone Stele on the Island in the Lake of Hulupi, the Woodcuts of Lin Chao-ying’s Calligraphy, the “Precept of Bureaucracy” during the Qing Rule, as well as Su Xiao-ming’s Yi-sheng Certificate- have all been registered as the “general antiquities” in Taiwan’s Cultural Heritage Preservation Act, and can be said as the gems of the antiquities in Tainan with their historical, artistic and scientific values.

Whilst collecting and exhibiting the historical objects, the Koxinga Museum has also been conducting researches and restorations to its collections since 2014, showcasing the efforts put into heritage conservation and management.
