Park Introduction

Blueprint Cultural & Creative Park

The Blueprint Cultural and Creative Park which was historical judicial dormitory, is located in the South District of Tainan City.

A part of the park is Japanese wooden architecture built in the Japanese Colonial Period, and the other part is the old-fashioned dormitory built in the 1960's, which is called “the First Judicial New Village.” It was the dormitory for the employees of the Tainan Prison, the Tainan Detention Center, the High Court Tainan Branch Court, and the Tainan High Prosecutors Office.

The Judicial New Village has experienced changes over the past decades. After the residents moved out, and with the prosperity of the neighboring streets and the construction of the nearby high-rise buildings, most of the red-brick walls and the corners of the empty houses have been occupied by vines and aerial roots of banyans, showing the passing time with historic traces. In order to give the old dormitory a new life, connect it with the trend of the cultural and creative industry in this city and the reuse for old houses, the city government integrate the opinions from the landlord National Property Administration and other property owners, successfully revitalize the area. Now, the village displays the installation art “the Blueprint” and blend it with the original features including the old trees, red bricks, shades, novelty, and arts. As an excellent place for many quality brands to set counters, the Blueprint Cultural & Creative Park becomes the most crucial cluster of the cultural and creative industry in Tainan.
