To increase cultural engagement of teenagers, Tainan City Government combines Coming-of-sixteen ceremony and theater engagement to fashion it into “Sixteen-Year-Old Festival, mainly for teenagers. ” The festival established in 2015. It can be divided into three plans, “Watching the performances,” “Joining in the performances,” and “Organizing the performances.” “Watching the performances” tends to access to the younger audience. “Joining in the performances” develops teens’ skills of theater production. “Organizing the performances” trains the young to act in the performances. In 2019, the scale of Sixteen-Year-Old Festival has grown to include music and dance events because we want to expand the impact of the festival and give the teens in Tainan more different ways to get access to arts.
