Since 2013, Xinying Art Festival has been introducing high-quality art to the locals and breaking the limitations of space in accordance with Xinying Art Park’s goals of “open city” and “art in everyday life”. Starting from Xinying Cultural Center, the Art Festival promotes arts for the locals and the elderly to help senior citizens retain physical and mental vitality as well as self-confidence. By encouraging active participation in performances, Xinying Art Festival offers the elderly access to performing arts. Through the contemporary perspective of inclusiveness, Xinying promotes local identity and, by emphasizing the cultural and historical context, showcases another possibility of creative performance. With such achievements, Xinying Art Festival aims to reveal a new wave of cultural images and prove that the elderly can actively participate in artistic activities and jointly lead a different artistic trend.
